【摘要】:Thisguideisintendedforusebythoseundertakingthedevelopmentoffire-hazard-assessmentstandards.Suchstandardsareexpectedtobeusefultomanufacturers,architects,specificationwriters,andauthoritieshavingjurisdiction.Asaguide,thisdocumentprovidesinformationonanapproachtothedevelopmentofafirehazardstandard;fixedproceduresarenotestablished.Limitationsofdata,availabletestsandmodels,andscientificknowledgemayconstitutesignificantconstraintsonthefire-hazard-assessmentprocedure.Whilethefocusofthisguideisondevelopingfirehazard-assessmentstandardsforproducts,thegeneralconceptspresentedalsomayapplytoprocesses,activities,occupancies,andbuildings.1.1Thisguidecoversthedevelopmentoffire-hazard-assessmentstandards.1.2Thisguideisdirectedtowarddevelopmentofstandardsthatwillprovideproceduresforassessingfirehazardsharmfultopeople,animals,orproperty.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.
