【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddefinescodevaluesusedtoenabletheclassificationofmerchantsintospecificcategoriesbasedonthetypeofbusiness,tradeorservicessupplied.Valuesarespecifiedonlyforthosemerchantcategoriesthataregenerallyexpectedtooriginateretailfinancialtransactions.ThisInternationalStandardalsoestablishestheproceduresforaRegistrationandMaintenanceManagementGroup(RMMG),whichconsidersrequestsfornewcodevalues,andaMaintenanceAgency(MA),whichprovidestheadministrativeproceduresrequiredtomaintainanup-to-datelistofcodes.ItisnotwithinthescopeofthisInternationalStandardtomandatetheuseofmerchantcategorycodesinanygivensituation.
