【摘要】:Thismethodisintendedforcelluloseacetatehavinganaceticacidyieldof54%?2.5%.Itmayalsobeapplicabletoothertransparentplasticswhicharenotstronglycolouredandwhichcanbemouldedunderthespecifiedconditions.Twomeasurementsofabsorption,oneattheredendandoneattheblueendofthevisiblespectrum,aresufficienttocharacterizetheabsorptionoflightbythematerial.Describesthepreparationofthematerial,twomethodsfortheincorporationofplasticizersanddiemouldingofthetestspecimen.Forthedeterminationoftheinitialopticaldensity,specimensgiventhesmallestpracticableamountofheatingareused.Theopticaldensityat25mmthicknessiscalculatedastheinitiallightabsorption.Thelightabsorptionafterfurtherheatingisobtainedbysimilarmeasurementsonspecimenspreparedusingalongerperiodofheatingduringmoulding.
