【摘要】:1.1Thisoutlinecoversresidentialpipeheatingcableintendedtoreducethelikelihoodofwaterfreezinginexposedpipesofresidences.ThesedevicesareconsideredappliancesinaccordancewithArticle422oftheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70.1.2Cableunitsemployingdifferentheatingconductors,insulation,orotherformsofconstructionmaybeexaminedandtestedinaccordancewiththeintentofthisoutline,andiffoundtobesubstantiallyequivalent,maybecovered.1.3Residentialpipeheatingcablesmaybeinstalledonmetalorrigidplasticpipes.Plasticpipesareconsideredtohaveamaximumlong-termthermalexposurelimitof50°Cabsolute.1.4Theseheatingcablesarelimitedtoapplicationswheretheyarenotexposedtoweatherunlessadditionallyevaluatedforoutdooruse.
