【摘要】:Masonryspecimensaresometimesremovedaspartofanassessmentoftheconditionofmasonryconstruction.Suchspecimensarecommonlypreparedforshipmenttoalaboratorywherethespecimensareassessedwithvisualtechniques,petrographictechniques,orstandardtestmethods.Theprocessofselecting,removing,andshippingthespecimenscanhaveaneffectontestresults.Thispracticeprovidesproceduresforselecting,removing,andshippingmasonryspecimensremovedfromexistingconstruction.Theselectionandremovalprocessesdescribedinthispracticeareprimarilyintendedforwalls.Selectionandremovalofmasonryspecimensfromlocationsotherthanwallsrequiresuserjudgmentinordertoobtainappropriatespecimens.Thispracticealsocoversreportingoftheselection,removal,andshippingprocesses.Thisinformationallowsinterestedpartiestoassesstheimpactoftheseprocessesontestresults.Thispracticedoesnotaddresstheuseoftestresultsconductedonremovedmasonryspecimens.Thispracticedoesnotdeterminewhethertheremovedmasonrymaterialsmetoriginalspecificationrequirements.1.1Thispracticecoverstheprocessofselection,removal,andshipmentofmasonryspecimensfromexistingconstructionthatareintendedfortesting.Thesespecimenscanbeeitherindividualmasonryunitsorassemblages.Assemblagesareaportionofexistingmasonry,typicallyconsistingofmasonryunits,mortar,grout,reinforcingsteel,collarjoint,andmasonryaccessories.Thespecimensmaybetakenfromsingle-ormultiple-wytheconstruction,orportionsthereof.Thispracticealsocoversproceduresforreportingaspartofthisprocess.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
