【摘要】:Fabricsintendedforthisend-useshouldmeetalloftherequirementslistedinTable1.Itshouldberecognizedthatfabricscanbeproducedutilizinganalmostinfinitenumberofcombinationsofconstructionvariables(forexample,typeoffibers,percentageoffibers,yarntwist,yarnnumber,warpandpickcount,chemicalandmechanicalfinishes.)Additionally,fashionoraestheticsdictatethattheultimateconsumermayfindacceptablearticlesmadefromfabricsthatdonotconformtoalloftherequirementsinTable1.Hence,nosingleperformancespecificationcanpossiblyapplytoallthevariousfabricsthatcouldbeutilizedforthisend-use.Theusesandsignificanceofparticularpropertiesandtestmethodarediscussedintheappropriatesectionsofthespecifiedtestmethods.1.1Thisperformancespecificationcoverstheperformancerequirementsforknittedupholsteryfabricsasusedinthemanufactureofnewindoorfurnitureforgeneraldomesticuse.Theserequirementsapplytoboththewaleandcoursedirectionsforthosefactorswhereeachfabricdirectionispertinent.1.2Thisperformancespecificationisnotapplicabletofabricsusedincontract,porch,deck,orlawnfurniture;norforwovenfabrics,bondedorlaminatedfabrics,orsurface-coatedfabrics(suchasvinylsandurethanes).1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.4Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsdescribedinthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeNote2.
